I wanted to address a whole bunch of social issues that Tolkien did not really address in his books. Most of them are the sorts of things that are usually deemed “women’s business”. I also wanted to attempt an answer to a question that always baffles me in boys-only invented worlds, where the only females who show up are mothers, witches or love interests. Namely, where the heck are the Dunedain women?
Also, I really wanted to play with Éomer, because he is so very, very pretty and manly and noble and all those things that make me want to play with men. And I am NOT ashamed of that at all. (Fanfic-style header here and trigger warning.)

Chapter 1 , in which a stranger appears in Edoras.

Part 3
Chapter 1, in which visitors arrive, a king broods and is comforted.
Chapter 2, in which much truth complicates matters.
Chapter 3, in which a lot happens, but the best of it is a naked king under a waterfall.
Chapter 4, in which tales are told around the campfire. Naughty tales.
An Elf, A Dwarf And a Spa - the title speaks for itself.
Chapter 5, in which the party grows, and a warrior and an Elf come to understand each other better.
Two Elves, A Man and a Waterfall - a warrior is comforted and the waterfall gets a workout.
Chapter 6, in which there are Ents, and a friendship blossoms into something more.
Part 4
Chapter 1, in which caves are visited, and things heat up.
Chapter 2, in which an unexpected visitor frustrates things, and those darn complications abound.
Chapter 3, in which a king faces up to many things and finds that he wants what he wants
Chapter 4, in which destiny must be met, sooner or later.
Chapter 5, in which a king decides to take matters into his own hands.
Chapter 6-1, in which there are resolutions and sex.
Chapter 6-2, and everything gets wrapped up, with lots of sex.

Summary/Notes: Takes place a year after the destruction of the one ring. Everything is canon up to this point, but Éomer is not going to marry Lothíriel, daughter of Imrahil. He is too busy pining for his secret love. A stranger arrives in Edoras to fulfil a prophecy that cannot be ignored.
Note: Some people really like this fic, so much so that it won an award, 2nd place in the Rohan category. When I find the pic of the award (I think it’s on my other computer...) I’ll put it up here.
